Our Solution

After positioning the brand we conceived the name YUDU – a brand name inspired by their call to creators and problem-solvers – simply put: We Don’t Design It, You Do. The identity needed to reinforce the brand’s core proposition of user-driven customisation in a happy, human way.

A fluid brand identity that exudes colour, variety and creativity the we further amplified by the true feels of street-cast South Africans to portray YUDU’s everyday user.

YUDU empowers people to create a rug in the size they need, in the style they want, with their choice of trim. A first-to-market for home delivery too – a convenience we can really get behind when you need a super-size rug.

Iconography

A unique set of icons simplify navigation and messaging on digital and print communication. The custom-style is inspired by a single thread that connects all areas of the creative process together. These wayfinding icons illustrate the customer journey and layer the identity with purpose.

Packaging

The first step of the rug-building journey invites the user to curate a sample box of swatches and trims to affirm their choices with a hands-on feel before ordering their rug. We designed bright, happy sample boxes to promote delight and engage the user with their first experience of YUDU.

Photography

From campaign images to influencer portraits, we produced imagery that seeks to evoke all that is YUDU, fresh and fun.

The brand’s authentic warmth is expressed through the can-do, problem-solving culture that runs deep in the DNA of South Africans. In this way we want users to recognise themselves in the brand photography and inspire their next YUDU purchase.
